About Richard
Learn more about Richard's story and what compels him to work in service for people just like you.
Rich has been interested in finance ever since he was a young child. Starting at 15, he began to track his income and expenses within a simple budget. The following year, his first job at McDonald's allowed him the means to manage and grow a savings and checking account which he used to finance his first car. Rich began to understand the importance of acting in a prudent and patient way to reach financial goals.
Rich studied finance at Loyola University Chicago and holds both a Bachelor's in Business Administration with honors and a Master's of Science in Finance with honors. He was an active participant in Loyola's Rambler Investment Fund as both a junior and senior analyst. Rich's in-depth education from Loyola is emblematic of the University's motto cura personalis or "Care for the whole person". In addition to the technical aspects, Rich believes in a high standard of ethical conduct which is reflected in his everyday life.
While living in Chicago, Rich volunteered for the American Red Cross as a Fundraising Stewardship Volunteer and continues to be active in his HOA. He served on the Budget and Finance committee in 2023 after being appointed by the Board, and brought his financial acumen forward in service to his community.
Rich's first full-time job after school was as an Investment Professional at J.P. Morgan Securities, LLC. In this role, he passed the SIE (Securities Industry Essential) and both Series 7 and 63 licenses to become a Registered Representative with FINRA. After 18 months he transferred to the role of Client Service Specialist, where his work focused on the resolution of complex option and margin transactions to maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
Rich has passed Level I of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) exam, and is pursuing the charter to better understand the tools and professional standards that entail the highly regarded designation.
In early 2024, Rich sought to broaden his financial career experience and moved to New York City. He worked as an Investment Banking intern for Nova Capital Partners where he researched and contributed to emerging market transactions and capital raises for important and impact-oriented causes in Africa such as renewable energy, water access, and transportation.
During his internship with Nova, he briefly worked as a Finance and Investment Specialist at Antelope Enterprise Holdings Limited in their office at the Empire State Building where he collaborated with a team to raise capital for the burgeoning firm.
In July of 2024, Rich first encountered New York Life where he quickly took a liking to firm's commitment to its clients through good times and bad. In August, Rich made the decision to commit his skillset to the role of Financial Services Professional where he helps individuals and businesses build and preserve wealth.
Rich's vision is one of bringing financial literacy and opportunity to all individuals and businesses. He is open to conversation and carries with him not just financial expertise, but a deep and compassionate drive to bring results and peace of mind to everyone he encounters.
